With growing success, a new ship-recycling yard is established at Plot No. 40, Alang — later named Shirdi Steel Traders.
Sai Gases oxygen plant
An in-house oxygen plant is set up to give the yards a steady, reliable supply of industrial oxygen for cutting.

Raj Bansal
Founder of RKB Group, under whose guidance the company set a benchmark as one of the fastest-growing ship-dismantling groups in India. A two-term Ex-President of the Ship Recycling Association of India, his deep experience across every domain of the industry ensures each aspect of RKB Group is sustainable and always aiming higher.
Honey R. Bansal
Managing Director of the group, Honey joined RKB in 2012. Following in Raj Bansal's footsteps with strong leadership and command over every stage of the ship-recycling flow, his dynamism has driven the group's operations to new heights — making it one of the leading names in ship recycling and dismantling.
