Our Story

In the year 1983 when the ship breaking industry was just starting in Alang, Mr Raj Bansal and Mr. Kapoor Bansal, with a powerful vision started their own ship recycling company in the same year. That company has since grown, today known as RKB Group, with business ventures spread out into:

  • Industrial Oxygen Manufacturing
  • Trading of scrap, minerals, metals and machinary
  • Real Estate

Great Achievments step by step.

RKB Group was established by Mr. Raj Bansal and Mr. Kapoorchand Bansal. Before venturing into Ship Recycling the group worked the field of rail tracks and locomotive scrap.

1983: Entry into Ship Recycling

Gupta Steel established by Raj Bansal and Kapoor Bansal in partnership with Mr. Shivji Gupta at Yard / Plot No. 1 of Alang Ship Recycling Yard. Starting with

1991: New Ship Recycling Yard - Shirdi Steel Traders

With the immense success in the ship recycling bussiness, Shirdi Steel Traders was established on Plot no. 40 in Alang.

Large Ship Point

2002 : Shanti Ship Breakers Pvt Ltd was started.

To further expand the ship recycling capacity of RKB group, Shanti Ship Breakers Pvt Ltd was started at Plot no 41.

With experience comes better quality

To expand the bussiness portfilio further RKB group initiated more sustainable and effiecient ways to progress.

2002 : Oxygen Plant Setup

Sai Gases started in 2002 to give a steady supply of Oxygen

2018 : HR Steels

To cover end to end services in the line of scrap metal HR Steels, a trading firm was initiated to cater to the demands of all sorts of commodities.

The leaders of RKB Group

Raj Bansal

He is the Founder of RKB Group and under his guidance the Company has set a Benchmark, to be renowned and acknowledged as one of the fastest growing ship dismantling group in India. He has been an Ex-President of Ship Recycling Association of (India) and has handled the association for 2 Consecutive years. With the immense experience, in all domains of the ship recycling industry, he made sure that each and every aspect of RKB Group is sustainable and always aiming for greater milestones.

Honey R. Bansal

Managing Director of the Group, He joined the RKB Group in 2012. Following in the footsetps of Raj Bansal, with great leadership skills and command over each and every sector of the ship recycling flow, Honey, has taken this group to new heights. With his Dynamism he has covered the entire Group’s Operations and helped in transforming the Group, making it one of the Leading Groups in Ship Recycling and Dismantling.
